"All the familiar faces from the coffeeshop in the morning or on the last train after midnight, the poster child of a political advertisement or a perfect stranger on an old photograph, they all transform, collide, perish and are to reborn in front of my eyes."

András's CV

Working with ceramics is probably the most important part of my work.
An ancient art with ancient rules. Material and technique lay down boundaries, so I feel constantly provoked to cross them. I am free to do many many things with the clay, but whatever is my plan, fire has the last word.
I can never be perfectly sure about the final results when I open the woodkiln’s door after a firing session Dark ash melts onto shiney glazes. Torsos and limbs bend in the high temperature heat. Solid structures become fluid masses. A bit too many degrees can decide between success and failure.
Well prepared designs may lead to dead ends and mistakes can present themselves as beautiful gifts. By walking on the path between anxiety and the point of letting go, the whole creative process draws a perfect circle at the end.

"My sculptures are mental 3D screenshots, captured halfway through day-to-day reality and my inner experiences. The bipolar circulation of searching for answers and the lack of understanding, this feeling of „being in-between” is the core of my concept. Design and impulse are almost equal parts of the workflow."

VISION

"A deep desire to connect and communicate with people through my work by giving them the opportunity to develop their own emotions and make up their own personal stories with the characters I create, so we can meet somewhere midway. We can create a secret language with the figures or identify them as somebody who we might have met before."

"My starting and ending points are always humans: faces, gestures, bodies and movements. I aim to find contradictions, paradoxes and glitches in a seemingly predictible environment filled with chaos-based behaviour."
